Six-Year University Assistance Programs In The Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area
Education is the process where individuals are making a life changing decision when entering college.
Universities do their best to encourage their students to fully develop his or her potential; it also serve the purpose of equipping the individual with the necessary assistance programs to get over their hard time in a difficult learning experience. Some students need extra help to fully understand and develop their learning skills in “Programming, or other Computer Science related curricula” this is done through assistance programs.
Through enhanced and/or long term instruction, students acquires and develops knowledge and support these assistance programs.
The education is often used to refer according to "Dictionary.com" definition of the term "Education" (the act or process of imparting or acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgment, and generally of preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life.).
However, the word's broader meaning covers a range of experiences, from formal learning to the building of understanding and knowledge through day to day experiences. Ultimately, life experience serves as a form of education.
It is widely accepted that the process of education is lifelong. Studies have shown that the child already in different stages of nurture is educated by the experiences it is exposed to.
Several studies suggest that children can learn while they are still in the womb. For example, newborns prefer the sound of their own mother's voice. In one experiment, they learned to change their pattern of sucking in order to activate a recording of their mother's voice instead of that of another woman.
Reading out loud to your prenatal can be a learning experience to the mother and unborn, talking about exciting topics can be a learning experience to the mother and unborn. Help you unborn, read to them.
This program is designed for "Hands-On-Education" to reinforce the students knowledge.
Altered Planes Entertainment Institute: Offering University Assistance Programs
Types of University Curricula Support:
- Programming
- Computer Science
- Game Creation and Design
- Hands on learning
University to Be Involved:
- University of Missouri at Kansas City
- Kansas City Art Institute
Reason:
A similar program is designed for Middle and High School students taking early stages of programming classes through Altered Planes Entertainment Institute Assistance Programs. This early stages of programming will give high school graduates a jump start once they enter into college and work for a degree program in "Computer Game Creation and Design" or in "Computer Science" programs.
As the Block School of Business MBA Report states, once students graduate from computer game creation and design or from programming, they discover they must relocate and may change their career choice.
During the MBA meetings there was discussion of UMKC’s Entrepreneur program. To help students UMKC was going to help publish and market the computer games the students created while in college. I said it would not work and stated my reasons. Several Ph. D professors, who play games agreed with me. It takes a team of 12 to 15 individuals specializing in several different areas, working for thousands of hours, sometimes years to develop a game. It can’t be done in just a few semesters.
According to Dr. Marilyn Taylor, Director of Block School of Business, UMKC could not afford to hire game professionals, they would make more than PhD’s or tenured professors. The university instruction on game creation and design is out of textbooks; no hands-on. UMKC could not afford to hire a large number of customer support and tech support to work 24/7/365 to support these games; the games selling are interactive games, needing support.
This is where Altered Planes Entertainment and Global Youth Development come in: our game professionals will work along side the college students, and the college students will gain hands on experience reinforcing their textbook knowledge, and make a percentage of the game. College students could continue working full time for APE once they graduate, thus keeping the talent in Kansas City. Several Kansas City officials feel that Altered Planes Entertainment could help Kansas City grow.
The APEI instructors will communicate with college students 24/7/365. They can interact with APE professional game designers and working in the areas of their choice and interest.
College students can also learn from home or college. Instructors will be able to view students and assignments at any time. They will be able to see where the student is difficulty without being asked by the student. If the instructors identify issues they can interact and help the student.
Students will be able to work at their own speed, at their own time, can walk away and return if frustrated, and restart when they are interested.
University students must become a member of Altered Planes Entertainment’s Entrepreneur Internship/Apprenticeship Programs to be able to connect to APE servers. Unless given a code, user name, and password, which will be changed once a month, access will be denied.
University student members will be allowed to come to APE, APEI, campus and work along side APE professional game designers, and be involved in the actual creation of a game. This alone should encourage them to stay in school and continue on with their career choice.
Global Youth Development and Altered Planes Entertainment, and Altered Planes Entertainment Institute will ask Kansas City Art Institute and University of Missouri at Kansas City to write a grant with their name taking the lead and Global Youth Development piggybacking on the grant. Global Youth Development will apply 10% of the grant to their school’s projects, using the remainder of the grant to fund APEI Assistance Programs to help their students.
Global Youth Development and Altered Planes Entertainment have been in contact several times over the last year with the offices of Senators in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, and Nebraska. The President of APE has been talking with their local District Office Directors and their Chiefs of Staff in Washington D.C. Each agreed that if any university supports GYDI, APE, APEI, and writes a grant (this “piggyback” grant concept was their suggestion) that this concept is workable and should be pushed through.
Research was conducted on behalf of the above companies by UMKC Block School of Business. A class of five MBA students under the direction of Dr. Marilyn Taylor concluded their was no competition for this undertaking in the area. The community needs this plan, the school districts need this plan, the universities need this plan, so let’s work together and make this plan a reality. The MBA report can be viewed at www.alteredplanes.com/mba.html
